Ignored but not Forgotten

The current state of the land around Ammo Hill is truly depressing. Invasive plants, construction remnants and broken liquor bottles create unsafe conditions for those who visit the area daily. The old cement construction site (top) has been long abandoned and lies in a state of ruin.

The old ammo bunkers themselves are welded shut and serve now only as canvases for graffiti.  Further up Ammo Hill are two abandoned buildings designated as protected bat dwellings. Unfortunately these buildings keep their doors open and have no protective fencing around them, leaving them truly unprotected from looters and graffiti artists.

All the while the wetlands sit unprotected, the grass grows tall, the cement smothers life and vandals treat the area as their personal playground; clearly we have our work cut out for us.
